"Idyllic rain forest retreat in a secluded and beautiful location. Karina & Sam have done amazing things here, building up the lodges from scratch while being sensitive to their environment. The lodges are beautifully set, overlooking the valley which is full of amazing tropical trees and a huge range of wildlife including monkeys, birds and so on. "We loved our stay with Sam and Karina ... it is truly idyllic. The hillside stream is beautiful to bathe in, there is an outdoor shower created by Sam and the 'mud hut' was fabulously decorated and had quirky design features. Sitting in the deckchairs so close to the undergrowth was a great experience and we spotted chameleons and colourful birds and even swooping bats at night. "This place is amazing. Set on the side of a valley, set within and surrounded by rainforest. They are in the process of making a natural pool and large yoga space, I'm sure will be so beautiful when finished - I'd like to think I'll be back in a couple of years to see it. "We stayed two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer because this place is just stunning. We got so much help from them with our bus connections and they also organized our jungle tour. The food was really good and selfmade Sri lankan food. When we opened the doors in our mudhouse we were able to see many monkeys and the nature sounds there were beautiful. So far it's been the highlight of our trip through Sri Lanka and we left feeling like we found a true hidden gem! Everything about our stay we enjoyed, we had the most beautiful balcony which overlooks the forest, we watched eagles nesting, monkeys clambering and feeding in the trees in front, lots of amazing bird species and our favourite - the giant squirrels who put on a show for us everyday. "A natural, beautiful and very special place to stay. I can't say enough good things about Sam and Karinas beautiful guest house. It's set in an amazing natural garden and forest so you have total peace and quiet with nature on the doorstep (fireflies, lizards, monkeys, birds) and a river to dip into. You can explore several trails into the jungle around the house, including a water where they have built a natural shower.
